Our Children Oregon was formed in 2019 by the merger between Children First for Oregon and Children’s Trust Fund of Oregon; two organizations who had been working closely together for years and whose concentrated efforts would be able to create more impactful change for Oregon’s Children. With focused data and research, OCO shines a spotlight on the gaping inequities facing children in Oregon, and through intentional partnerships and community involvement, they work to improve the well-being of all Oregon children.
”"Danny came to the table with curiosity, candor, and deep interest to understand how the website could best serve to engage others in our work of centering children and families in policies and investments. His thoughtful sensibility and tremendous skill, along with the rest of his team, made the development process exciting and fun. We intend to work with Untapped in the future and recommend them wholeheartedly."

OCO worked with the Metropolitan Group to develop a new brand identity and logo design, but lacked a partner who could bring their new brand to life on their website. Metropolitan Group developed an outstanding logo with high level graphic guidance, but some additional identity expansion was required to facilitate the needs of a website. This was also a perfect opportunity for Our Children Oregon to rethink their digital strategy – whose previous website was very “barebones”, and wasn’t optimized for accessibility or to facilitate an engaging experience with their audience.

We started by getting a stronger understanding of the needs for the organization – from key content to show, important call-to-actions to present and how OCO’s primary audiences were. After understanding these foundational requirements, we began developing a series of concepts for how to best execute OCO’s new website – continuing to explore strategy refinements and design optimizations to best engage their users and to make OCO’s complex layers of data and research easily accessible.
Once we had an agreed upon strategy to start with, we began developing a custom WordPress instance to support the new design, while making it intuitive and easy for OCO to manage their website going forward. Their website was also integrated with a variety of marketing softwares, including Gravity Forms, Salesforce and Campaign Monitor to create a thorough marketing system OCO.

After Our Children Oregon’s new website was launched, OCO saw a large jump in web traffic thanks to the accessibility data and SEO optimization performed on the site, and also saw an average of 50 new newsletter subscribers a month. Their website continues to set organization records, and after a successful launch, we continued supporting OCO’s larger website needs by expanding their site to contain an interactive Children’s Agenda as well as a password protected Board Member’s Portal.
