A More Sustainable Mailing Solution

Ned & Co. is an earth-conscious brand providing a variety of CBD-infused products for various wellness purposes. Founded by two friends in Boulder, CO, Ned has quickly grown a following for their single-source CBD and expertly crafted tinctures. They contacted Rivetry while in the process of launching a new product, Ned Sleep Blend; they saw this to be a perfect opportunity to revamp their product mailers for online orders to match their new visual identity built in 2018. Their previous mailer didn’t only follow a different design system then their new branding, it was also rather wasteful. While they needed larger boxes for unique orders, their most common order was for a single tincture bottle, which left a tremendous amount of unused space and unnecessary materials in their existing mailers.

In addition to their mailer design, Ned also needed help building several inserts that would accompany their products. They needed informational cards made that helped provide details about the customers purchase and instructions for how to use their new tincture. Finally, Ned was also introducing their North Star program, and needed a logo design for this program that matched the rest of their branding.

We started the process by exploring a wide range of executions for the new mailer design, focusing on the unboxing experience and a clear transition between the outside and inside of the mailer.

Using Ned’s existing Sleep Blend packaging as inspiration, we crafted a nature inspired, simplistic and soothing approach that made the customer’s order the hero.

After successfully building both the full-size and new condensed mailer box, we continued working with and supporting Ned by designing a series of usage guides to accompany specific products, and a brochure design highlighting a new rewards program.

Neds new packaging helped elevate the consistency of their branding and the experience for customers receiving their order. Our usage guide templates have been utilized by Ned for a variety of supporting collateral and brand executions. Ned continues to rapidly expand into an emerging industry, and we can’t wait to continue supporting them in the future!
